Privacy policy
We collect as little about you as we can. Reading this site does not require an account, a form or any personal details.

This policy explains how PC Fieldbook (https://pcfieldbook.info) handles information about visitors. The site is published by Fieldbook Media, Leeds, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the information described here. Questions go to hello@pcfieldbook.info.
Summary
- You can read every page without an account, a form or a sign-up.
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- The site stores a few settings in your own browser so it works properly. Those settings never reach us.
- Optional measurement cookies for our Google ads stay off unless you choose Allow optional cookies.
Information you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever your message contains. We use it only to read and answer your message and, if you report a mistake, to correct a procedure. We keep correspondence for up to 24 months and then delete it, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Legal basis (where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies): our legitimate interest in answering messages and keeping the procedures accurate.
Information stored in your browser
The site uses your browser’s local storage, on your device only, for:
- your cookie settings (always, because the site needs them);
- the steps you tick off in a procedure, so your progress is still there if you come back, only if you allow Preferences in the cookie banner;
- your answer to “Did this procedure solve it?”, also only if you allow Preferences.
We cannot see any of this. You can clear it at any time by choosing Clear ticks in a procedure, by turning Preferences off in Cookie settings, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. The cookie policy lists each item.
Legal basis (where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies): your consent for Preferences, which you can withdraw at any time; storing your cookie settings is strictly necessary.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our hosting provider records basic technical information when your browser requests a page: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser type. These logs are used to keep the site secure and working, are not used to identify individual visitors, and are deleted by the host on its normal schedule, typically within 30 days.
Advertising and measurement
We may run search ads on Google so that people looking for help can find our free procedures. If you click one of those ads, Google records the click under its own privacy policy.
If we enable Google’s measurement tag to learn which ads lead to visits, it runs in Google Consent Mode with advertising and analytics storage set to “denied” by default. In that state no measurement cookies are set and Google receives only limited, cookieless signals. Cookies are set only if you choose Accept all or turn on Measurement in the cookie banner, and ad personalisation stays off either way. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer; turning Measurement off deletes those cookies. You can also manage how Google uses data for ads at adssettings.google.com.
We do not show third-party advertising on our pages, and we do not use remarketing lists built from this site.
Third parties and links
Our pages, fonts, styles and scripts are all served from this website. We do not embed social media buttons, video players, chat widgets or comment systems. Links to other websites, such as a software company’s support site, are governed by that website’s own privacy policy.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy of it. This includes rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR and under US state laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act. To use any of these rights, email hello@pcfieldbook.info. We will answer within 30 days and will not treat you differently for asking.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
This site is written for a general adult audience. It is not directed at children under 13 (under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has emailed us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, loads no third-party code by default, and uses a strict Content Security Policy. Email you send us is stored with an email provider that protects accounts with two-factor authentication.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on this page for at least 30 days.
